Term Conversion and Convertibility
How a term conversion option can let you move into permanent coverage later. A good decision usually comes from comparing policy details, not from chasing the first low premium.
A conversion right has boundaries
A term policy may allow eligible coverage to move to permanent insurance without new medical evidence, but the deadline, maximum amount, available products, attained-age pricing, riders, and administrative timing control its usefulness. “Convertible” alone is not enough detail.
Key record: Request the current conversion guide and quotes before the deadline; note the form-receipt date and whether partial conversion is allowed.

Questions to verify
Finish with a written decision
Copy the controlling policy language and dates into your notes. Mark each number as guaranteed, current, or illustrated; identify the person or organization that supplied it; and save any written answer. Before ending or replacing coverage, confirm when the new protection becomes effective and whether a free-look, contestability, surrender, or tax consequence applies.
